- Her obituary appeared in the Doylestown Democrat on January 25, 1876, and states:
Mrs. Elizabeth Hellings, who died at Grand Street, N.Y on the 18th of November last, was the daughter of the late Samuel Hibbs, of Bensalem, and mother of Mrs. Joshua V. Hageman of Warwick. She was a woman of superior literary attainments, and contributed extensively to many of the leading papers of New York. She was educated at the Newtown Academy. Her remains were brought to Bristol and interred in the old Hibbs & Johnson yards. ed.note: Williamson & Johnson Cemetery.
