  • Notes
    • William Henry's inheritance from his father was that his brother Robert B. pay him $ 150.00 dollars a year, in half yearly installments, for the rest of his life.

On January 13, 1886 William's brother, Andrew J. Hibbs and Christina his wife, conveyed to William R. Wright, William's brother-in-law, a property on Otter Street, in Bristol Borough. The transfer was made as a cestui que trust (popularly known as a spendthrift trust) for William Henry, his wife and their children. William Wright died in 1888 and the trust was transferred to Charles Willis Hibbs, William's nephew. After Williams death in 1914 the trust was broken and the property sold to Andrew J. Jr., William's son, for the price $ 1,050.00, the other children received $ 101.44 from that sum as their share. It appears that Andrew J. Sr., did not have enough confidence in William Henry, to give him the property outright, and he was probably right, because on October 28, 1901, after the death of William's wife, William Henry sold his lifetime income of $ 150.00 a year in half yearly installments, to George Smith of Bristol, for the sum of $400.00. William Henry lived another twelve years and would have collected another $ 1,800.00 from his inheritance.
